Vintage Cowboy Boots
If you had to find a symbol for the Wild West, it could
easily be the cowboy boot. Surprisingly enough, many
vintage cowboy boots made it through the rough times
endured by early cowboys, and have survived to become a
great collectible item today. Many of them date back to
early in the 1800s, and some have even passed from
person to person with their story and history intact. If
you're interested in vintage cowboy boots, however,
you're going to have to spend some time searching, and
also some serious money - they sell from around $1000
upwards.
Finding Vintage Cowboy

Some western apparel shops have a special vintage cowboy
boots section, so it's worth taking a look. There are
also a number of Internet sites that specialize in
selling vintage cowboy boots, so do a search and see
what you can find. Nowadays the interest in vintage
cowboy boots has spread far beyond the USA, with
collectors in places like Australia and Europe. There's
a certain style and even sex appeal attached to these
old boots, which is part of the reason they're so
popular with collectors.
Most of the older cowboy boots are quite tall, ranging
from 13 to 18 inches high. They also have 1 to 2 inch
heels, and these are often quite intricately designed.
Some of the most prized vintage cowboy boots still have
their original spur straps, as well as brass conchose,
chains and jingle bobs. Boots in such a well-preserved
state are very hard to find, though, and certainly are
some of the most expensive.

variety. They come in all sorts of colors, some
monogrammed, many decorated or stamped, and many were
custom made. So each pair is usually quite unique. Most
have obviously been well worn by their original owners,
but there are some pairs that have never been worn. With
so much interest in vintage cowboy boots, many
collectible stores have begun adding them to their
collections.
Of course, if you just want a stylish pair of cowboy
boots to wear with your western gear, vintage cowboy
boots may be a bit pricey. You might be better off with
a good pair of Justin cowboy boots, or perhaps Lucchese
western boots. Both of these companies make cowboy boots
that resemble vintage styles. By shopping around you can
easily find a new pair of boots which closely resembles
one of the more popular vintage designs.
Custom Cowboy Boots
Another option is to buy custom made retro vintage
design cowboy boots. A number of quality firms offer
this service. You can customize them in any way you
prefer, and then they're made to match your request. You
can buy custom made men's and ladies vintage design
boots. However you will need to allow some time for the
boots to be made and delivered, which could take up to
12 weeks.
Still, if you want a pair of boots with some history and
maybe even a story you can share with your friends and
family, vintage cowboy boots may still be the best
choice for you.
